Saad Backer

Head of Student Council

My name is Saad Backer, and it’s an honor to step into the role of Head of Student Council for this academic year.

I don’t see leadership as standing at the front, I see it as standing alongside. My goal is simple: to make sure every voice in this school, no matter how quiet, finds a way to be heard. I want to build a council that students actually turn to.

Over my time at CIS, I’ve learned that the best ideas rarely come from the top, they come from conversations in corridors, at lunch tables, in the middle of a tough exam week. This year, I want to chase those ideas down and turn them into real change: a lighter academic load where it matters, more spaces to just breathe, and a school culture where asking for help is never seen as weakness.

This is more than a title to me. It’s a promise to listen first, act with purpose and leave this school a little better than I found it.

Here’s to a year where we don’t just pass through these halls, but leave our mark on them.

Let’s make it count.
