Extra-curricular Activities

Cambridge International School-Dubai offers a rich selection of extracurricular activities designed to enhance students' all-round development. The school has earned an excellent reputation for its inter-school sports activities and tournaments.

Support classes in a variety of subject areas are extremely popular with students who require additional guidance and for those that merely wish to acquire additional expertise.

Each student is a member of one of four different Houses, each named after a Middle Eastern bird:  Eagles, Falcons, Hawks, and Kestrels. They are led by the House Captain and House Vice-Captain. These Houses form the basis of many sporting, artistic and intellectual challenges across the school including inter-house competitions and the accumulation of house points.

Outdoor Education

Students at Cambridge International School participate in a planned progression of outdoor experiences that take place in Fujairah, Oman, and Mauritius. The outdoor activities include rafting, mountain biking, camping, rock climbing, and canoeing. All students from  Year 1 and upwards are encouraged to participate in the Environment Club. These activities allow students to develop universal values for the society at large, leadership skills and greater self-confidence as relationships with peers and teachers are strengthened through various environmental club activities.

Students are encouraged to explore their talents within painting, drawing, printmaking, photography or ceramics, allowing them to experience a wide range of techniques and applications. All students study Art and Design up to the end of Key Stage 3 after which it becomes an external examination option. Cambridge International School has one spacious well-resourced art studio.

All students study Drama in Key Stage 3 after which it becomes an option for external examination in key stage 4 & 5. Drama offers our students a challenging medium in which to explore their individual or group creativity.

For primary classes dance is taught as an integral part of the compulsory Physical Education programme. Through dance, our students learn to explore basic body actions so that they can create and repeat short dances inspired by themes and music.

In secondary school, dance is offered as part of the Arts program for shows, contests, and productions.

The CIS Debate Society offers a multitude of activities for students in Year 5 and above. This enables them to engage in a wide range of enlightening discussions, develop critical thinking and public speaking skills, learn to collaborate and interact effectively, and build self-confidence.

Debate is divided into four sections:

  1. Debate Training
  2. Model United Nations
  3. World Scholars’ Cup
  4. Politics, Problems, and Ethic

Each division is headed by a team of experienced students, who join together to form the Debate Admin.

Cambridge International School hosts and participates in various debate competitions such as the Dubai Debate League, Gulf Debates, and the Cambridge International Primary MUN- among many others.
