Mamatha Samson
Head of Year 7
I am a Computer Science and ICT educator with 18 years of experience in education and currently serve as the Head of Year 7. I hold a Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA), a TQUK Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, and a Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching and Learning.
Throughout my career, I have been passionate about using technology education to develop not only students’ technical knowledge but also their creativity, problem-solving abilities, confidence, and critical thinking skills.
My experience in pastoral roles has strengthened my commitment to understanding students as individuals, building trusting relationships, supporting their wellbeing, and creating an environment where every student feels valued, heard, and encouraged to succeed.
A quote by Nelson Mandela that strongly reflects my philosophy as an educator is:
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
I believe education has the power to shape not only what students know, but who they become. My aim is to inspire students to become confident, responsible, resilient, and independent learners who embrace challenges, think creatively, and use their knowledge and skills to make a positive contribution to the world around them.
