Sangeetha Philip

Digital Literacy Coordinator

I am Sangeetha Philip and I have completed my Masters in Computer Applications. I joined CIS as a secondary ICT teacher in 2003 and worked as the Deputy HOD, ICT from Jan - June 2007. After a two year break, I joined Cambridge International School back again in Sep 2009 as coordinator for BTEC courses. I continued in that role for 3 years and also worked as the Assistant Vocational Studies Faculty Leader from 2012-2014. Recently I have taken up the role as the Faculty Leader for BTEC.
I believe that teaching is more than just passing on information. Students also need to know how and when to apply this knowledge. We need to nurture well rounded adults to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

As part of our school’s Digital citizenship drive, I am a Common Sense digital citizenship certified educator for 2016-2017. I am also a qualified Cisco Instructor Trainer for IT Essentials1 course since 2014 which makes me eligible to train instructors who wish to deliver the course. Recently I have become a member of the Microsoft Educator Community which provides an opportunity for educators from different countries to collaborate, create, and share ideas.
It has been a wonderful journey so far and I strongly believe that Education is a journey, not a destination.
