Nathan Sadler

Vice Principal at GEMS Wellington Academy Silicon Oasis

Hello, my name is Nathan Sadler and I am Vice Principal at GEMS Wellington Academy Silicon Oasis. My responsibilities include: Assessment; Teaching and Learning Standards; and Innovation across the Academy.

I was born and raised in a small town called Wymondham, which is in the county of Norfolk in England. I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2009 with a First Class BEd (Hons) in Primary Education. After two years of teaching in the UK, I moved to Dubai in 2011 to teach at WSO as a founding member. From 2011 to 2013, I taught years 5 and 6 and started my leadership journey as the Numeracy Coordinator and Year 5 Team Leader. From 2013 to 2015, I worked at another international school in Dubai, gaining PYP (IB Primary Years Program) and American curriculum experience. I returned to WSO in 2015 as Key Stage One Assistant Principal, supporting and leading a talented group of teachers.

I started my Vice-Principal position at WSO in January 2018 and have relished the opportunity to have a positive impact on so many students.  I would like all students to thrive and enjoy WSO, becoming life-long holistic learners through a creative inquiry-based curriculum.  My aim is to empower teachers with the motivation to teach innovatively, and ensure all students reach their potential and beyond. Parental engagement is vitally important, and I will continue to lead and take part in engagement workshops.

Outside of school, I am kept very busy with my three children under the age of three, Amelie, Archie, and Aurora! Along with my wife, we all enjoy visiting new places and keeping active. Having completed 5 marathons, I am always looking for my next challenge.
