We are pleased to be able to report to you another year of excellent examination success for our students and the school, with some results significantly exceeding UK and World averages. 86% of students in Year 11 (IGCSE) attained 5 A*-C, compared to 69% of students attaining 5 A*-C in the UK. 79% of students achieved 5 A* - C including both English and Mathematics. Particularly pleasing were the results of students who took English as a First Language and English Literature, 100% of these students gained A* - C. At AS level, Mathematics, Biology, Applied ICT, Arabic and Business were above world averages whilst at A Level, Sociology, Literature in English, Economics, Business Studies, Art and Design, Arabic and Applied ICT were above world averages. There were some superb results for individuals with 5 students achieving four or more A results and 77 A grades at AS level; 81 subject results being A*/A grades at A level and 13 students achieving 3 or more A/A* grades. The vocational program at CIS continues to excel, with 67% of the students who studied the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma Business and 40 % of those who studies the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma ICT achieving Distinctions (Equivalent to an A grade at full A level); while 53% of the students who studied BTEC Engineering in Year 9 were awarded Distinction grades. Most of our leavers have taken up places in universities across the world including Imperial College London, UCL (UK), Surrey University (UK), Newcastle University (UK) University Of Manchester (UK), Mc Gill University (Canada), University of Waterloo (Canada), Broklav University Poland, University of Virgiinia (USA), Institute of Georgia Tech (USA), National University for Science and Technology (Pakistan), University Of Nottingham (Malaysia), Murdoch University (Australia), Cornell Medical College (Qatar) and Dubai Medical University (UAE). We are very proud of our students and the results they have achieved and wish all of them every success for the future. |
