Cambridge International School-Dubai offers a rich selection of extra curricular activities designed to enhance students' all round development. The school has earned an excellent reputation for its inter-school sports activities and tournaments.
Support classes in a variety of subject areas are extremely popular with students who require additional guidance and for those that merely wish to acquire additional expertise.
House System
Each student is a member of one of four different Houses, each named after a Middle Eastern bird: Eagles, Falcons, Hawks and Kestrels. They are led by the House Captain and House Vice Caiptain. These Houses form the basis of many sporting, artistic and intellectual challenges across the school including inter-house competitions and the accumulation of house points.
Sporting Activities
A wide variety of athletic and sporting activities are offered on-campus at Cambridge International School taught by specialist teachers. The wide selection of activities includes:
Swimming Gymnastics
Hockey Basketball

Rounders Dance
Cambridge International School holds inter-house
sporting competitions and plays friendly and League matches against other Dubai and Arabian Gulf schools on a regular basis.
Outdoor Education
Students at Cambridge International School participate in a planned progression of outdoor experiences that take place in Fujairah, and Mauratius. The outdoor activities include rafting, mountain biking, camping, rock climbing, canoeing, and diving. All students from Year 1 and upwards are encouraged to participate in the Environment Club. These activities allow students to develop universal values for the society at large, leadership skills and greater self confidence as relationships with peers and teachers are strengthened through various environmental club activities.
The Visual Arts
Students are encouraged to explore their talents within painting, drawing, printmaking, photography or ceramics, allowing them to experience a wide range of techniques and applications. All students study Art and Design up to the end of Key Stage 3 after which it becomes an external examination option. Cambridge International School has two spacious well-resourced art studios.
Drama
All students study Drama in Key Stage 3 after which it becomes an option for external examination. Drama offers our students a challenging medium in which to explore their individual or group creativity. Through Drama they are able to explore attitudes, ideas and emotions, both in real and imaginary situations within the secure context of the Drama lesson.
Dance
Dance is taught as an integral part of the compulsory Physical Education programme. Through dance our students learn to explore basic body actions so that they can create and repeat short dances inspired by themes and music.
E-Sports
E-Sports is Dubai's leading sports training academy for both children and adults of all levels. These programs include, tennis, football, swimming, cricket, rugby, climbing, holiday camps and much more. Our main aim is to provide all students with the knowledge and tools to better themselves within the sport, with the focus on enjoyment through learning
GEMS have engaged the services of E-Sports for additional activities and these will run after our free school based activities. There are costs for all these activities as detailed on the attached schedule. Places are not guaranteed and are allocated if vacancies are available and on a first come, first served basis at the specific sign up days allocated to the various schools.
However, as we cannot have unsupervised children at school waiting to attend a club which starts later in the day, we ask you to please select a school club which slots in on the same day as your paid activity, unless you are prepared to collect at 2.50pm and return your child to their coaching session at the later time.
